. Almost 200 people evacuated from waterlogged village in Yakutia.
YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK, August 3 (Itar-Tass) - One hundred ninety five
people, including 112 children, has been evacuated from a waterlogged
village in Yakutia.
The Beteneks village stands on the bank of the Adycha River that was hot by a flood wave from rains in the nearby mountains of the Verkhoyansk region.
Last Saturday, one hundred eighty seven homes stood in water up to
their windows. On Sunday, the water level in the Adycha fell by 35
centimetres but the houses are still in water, the press secretary of the Russian Emergencies Ministry department for Yakutia Aleksey Khlybov said.
The flood wave has also hit the nearby villages of Yunkor and Baralis.
About three hundred people were evacuated from them a few days ago. Now that the water has receded, most of them have returned home.
At present, the weather in the Verkhoyansk region is dry. Flood waves on the local rivers are getting smaller.
