Foreign investors purchase Dh723 million worth of shares on DFM

Dubai, Aug 3, 2008 (WAM) - Dubai Financial Market announced today that the value of shares bought by foreign investors, or non-UAE nationals, during last week (July 27- July 30) reached Dh723 million, representing 33.6 per cent of the total value of stocks traded during the period.

The value of stocks sold by foreign investors during the same period reached Dh992.2 billion, comprising 46.1 per cent of the total value of stocks traded during the period. Net foreign investment on the market reached Dh269.2 million during the same period, as aggregate sell.

The value of stocks bought by institutional investors during last week
reached Dh695.9 million, representing 32.34 per cent of the total value of stocks traded during the period. The value of stocks sold by institutional investors during the period reached Dh1.041 billion which constitutes 48.37 per cent of the total value of stocks traded during the period. Net institutional investment on the market reached Dh344.7 million during the period as aggregate buy.
