U.S. obstructing formation of Iraqi govt: Judiciary chief
TEHRAN, Nov. 8 (MNA)-- Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Larijani said the United States keeps impeding the formation of a government in Iraq.
“Despite the agreement reached among the Iraqi groups, the U.S. obstructs the formation of an independent government,” Larijani said in a meeting with judiciary officials on Sunday.
Larijani also advised U.S. President Barack Obama to learn a lesson from the recent defeat of the Democrats in the Congressional election and fulfill the promises he made during his election campaigns.
“In the U.S. Congressional election, Democrats lost 70 seats as a result of Obama’s inefficient policies. It was an obvious defeat, and I hope they learn a lesson from this defeat,” he noted.
Unfortunately, Obama won the public support with the slogan of “change,” but failed to make any considerable changes to national or international policies, he stated.
For example, none of Obama’s promises in improving the situation in Iraq or Afghanistan was fulfilled, the highest-ranking judicial official noted.
He went on to say that despite Obama’s early claims, he adopted double-standard approaches toward Iran.
