AZERBAIJAN LEADS CIS FOR MAIN ECONOMIC INDICATORS

Baku, 06 AUGUST,(AzerTAj)Azerbaijan posted a GDP growth of 16.5% - the highest indicator in the CIS area - also remaining a leader in terms of capital investments (31.9%), per capita income (34.2%) and other indicators, CIS Interstate Statistics Committee said in its recently released economic performances report for the first
half of 2008.

Belarus ranks second with GDP growth of 10.4%.
Industrial production in Azerbaijan also rose by 13.8 in the first half of 2008 as
compared with that of the same period last year. It is by 0.8% higher than Belarus`s
indicators.
