MALAYSIA, CHINA TO SIGN PACT TO COMBAT TRANSNATIONAL CRIMES
PUTRAJAYA, Dec 1 (Bernama) -- Malaysia and China will sign a memorandum of understanding next year to combat transnational crimes such as human trafficking and drug smuggling, Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein said.
He said the agreement, which would spell out areas of cooperation between both
countries and to be signed in Beijing, was currently being drafted.
Earlier Tuesday, he met China's Ambasaddor to Malaysia Chai Xi.
Hishammuddin said at the meeting they discussed, among other things, "long term
relationship and arrangement not only between party and party but also between
government to government."
Meanwhile, Chai who has been here since five months ago, said both sides were
satisfied with the relations and cooperation especially in safety and security
areas.
"I would say that if we look at the situation in our region, we enjoy peace and
stability but we are also at the same time facing several issues which we should
join hands to tackle them," he said.
