SINGAPORE, INDONESIA END WAR EXERCISE
SINGAPORE, Dec 1 (Bernama) -- The Singapore and Indonesian armies Tuesday
successfully ended their 10-day annual bilateral army exercise, codenamed Safkar
Indopura, in Indonesia.
The republic’s Defence Ministry said Singapore’s Chief of Army Major-General
Chan Chun Sing and Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army (TNI-AD) General George
Toisutta co-officiated at the closing ceremony of the exercise at Cipatat in
Bandung.
In a statement here, the ministry said this year's Exercise Safkar Indopura, the
22nd in the series, was a combined brigade field exercise.
About 300 Singapore infantrymen and 400 soldiers from TNI-AD's Strategic Reserve
Command participated in the exercise, which involved both conventional and urban
operations training.
The ministry said the successful conduct of the exercise underscored the
excellent defence relations between the Singapore and Indonesian armies.
