28 MONT`KIARA BAGS BEST INTERNATIONAL HIGH RISE DEVELOPMENT

From Nor Faridah Abd Rashid

LONDON, Dec 2 (Bernama) -- Sunrise Bhd's 28 Mont'Kiara luxury condominium
project was named the “Best International High Rise Development" at the
International Property Awards held here over the weekend.

Earlier this year, 28 Mont'Kiara won the Best Residential High Rise
Development in the Asia Pacific Awards.

The company's executive deputy chairman Allan Lim Kim Huat said the
award came as a surprise.

“We did not expect it for Mont Kiara,” he told Malaysian and Hong Kong
journalists after the award ceremony on Sunday.

He felt that the factors which gave the project a winning edge included
Mont’Kiara’s concept and design which were rather unique, adding that a lot of
people participated in the design.

“We have a lot of facilities, something extra and something unique like the
Wellness (garden) which has spa, sauna and jacuzzi facilities. We also
incorporate the 70 to 30 per cent green concept,” he said.

Lim said that the project with a gross development value of RM1 billion
(US$317.259 million) was already at the advanced stage and expected to be
completed by the end of 2012.

28 Mont’Kiara, is a residential project which offers luxuriant space the size of
two football fields covering 70 percent of the 5.8 acres of freehold land. The
twin 40-storey towers house 460 units with sizes ranging from 2,535 to 3,000 sq
ft. It also has six penthouse units of up to 6,465 sq ft.

Malaysian High Commissioer to the United Kingdom Zakaria Sulong, who was present
at the ceremony, congratulated Sunrise saying that it won the special award
despite the competition being highly competitive with participants worldwide
under that category.

The 2010 International Property Awards held in association with Bloomberg
Television are highly-coveted Awards and regarded as the world’s most
prestigious accolades in the field of property development, with the best real
estate professionals across the globe vying for ultimate recognition of their
work.

The finalists are judged by 51 professional judges. Regional competitions from
earlier in the year determine the nominees from each of the following: the
Americas, Asia-Pacific, Europe & Africa, Arabia, and the UK, with 28 Mont'Kiara
representing Asia-Pacific under the category of Best High Rise Development.
