BIOTECHCORP INKS MOU WITH KOREAN ENERGY MANAGEMENT CORPORATION

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 10 (Bernama) -- Biotechnology Corporation (BiotechCorp)
today inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Korean Energy
Management Corporation (KEMCO) to spur mutual growth in the areas of green
technology as well as energy conservation and management.

Chief Executive Officer Iskandar Mizal Mahmood said the company
saw South Korea as an important trade and investment partner.

"We recognise their strength in biotechnology, particularly in renewable
energy and biofuel.

"We look forward to joint-commercial activities between the enterprises and
research institutes of both countries in promoting renewable energy-specifically
bioenergy and biofuels," he said in a statement Friday.

KEMCO is an agency of the South Korean government and it is under the
purview of the Ministry of Knowledge Economy.

Iskandar Mizal said the collaboration may be expanded to include other
activities of mutual interest.

It is in line with BiotechCorp's aim to be a global player in the sphere of
industrial biotechnology, he added.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun
Razak and the President of South Korea, Lee Myung-bak, who arrived here Thursday
for a two-day visit in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the
establishment of diplomatic relations between the republic and Malaysia.
