INSANIAH TO INTRODUCE COURSE TO MOULD EXPERTS IN ISLAMIC FINANCE



LANGKAWI, Malaysia, Dec 13 (Bernama) -- A Kedah government-owned learning
institution, Insaniah University College, will introduce courses to enable
students to master economy and syariah at the same time to produce experts in
economy and Islamic finance.

The northen state chief minister Azizan Abdul Razak said that currently,
students had to take either economy or syariah.

"At Insaniah, we want them to learn both (economy and syariah) at the same
time so that they can be experts in Islamic finance," he told reporters after
opening the Second Langkawi Islamic Finance and Economics International
Conference (2 Life) here Monday.

He said the university college had also gained the confidence of the Islamic
Development Bank (IDB), which is based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to gather
scholars and professionals in banking to discuss to further develop Islamic
finance.

The three-day conference is attended by more than 200 scholars and
professionals in Islamic finance from 10 countries.

A total of 62 working papers would be tabled during the conference.
