MALAYSIA INVITES UAE OFFICIALS FOR FURTHER STUDIES
By Muin Abdul Majid
DUBAI, Dec 14 (Bernama) -- The United Arab Emirates (UAE) should consider
sending not only more students but also government officials for master's and
PhD programmes in Malaysia.
Malaysian Ambassador to the UAE Yahaya Abdul Jabar said the Southeast
Asian nation was quite advanced in certain fields that might be of interest to
the Emirates.
He cited as examples, information technology, small and medium enterprise
development, engineering and others.
"I think we can share some of this with government officials from the UAE,"
the envoy told Bernama recently.
According to Yahaya, Malaysia would welcome more government-sponsored
students from this region to its institutions of higher learning.
Such groups, he said, would normally be among the best people selected to
study abroad.
"This will help strengthen future relations between Malaysia and the
countries they come from, as these friends of Malaysia will be able to later on
contribute in promoting our interests, including products and services," he
added.
