SHAH ALAM (Selangor, Malaysia), Dec 18 (Bernama) -- National car
manufacturer Proton Holdings Berhad Saturday launched the Proton 1Malaysia

industry.
Proton group managing director Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir said during
the two-week festival, Proton would not only showcase its new cars, but also its

He believed the festival would change the negative perceptions about Proton that
might exist among the Malaysian public.
He was speaking to reporters after flagging off a convoy of 55 Proton cars
enroute to 11 selected destinations in the peninsula, at the Proton Excellence
Centre here Saturday.
The convoy's first destination will be Stadium Indera Mulia in Ipoh, followed by

Melaka, Seremban and back to Shah Alam on Dec 31.
At each stop, there will be a carnival filled with various programmes for
visitors, including car show, free vehicle inspection, recreational activity and
concerts.
Among Proton cars which would be exhibited at the carnival are rally car Satria
NeoSuper 2000 which had competed in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge and
Asia Pacific Rally Championship, Proton Exora electric, Proton Emas hybrid
