CHINESE TRAVELERS BOOST SYDNEY AIRPORT TRAFFIC IN NOVEMBER

MELBOURNE, Dec 20 (Bernama) -- More travellers to and from China helped
Sydney Airport record a 4.7 per cent lift in passenger traffic in November, the
airport's majority owner MAp Group says.

MAp says international passengers at Sydney Airport rose 4.3 per cent in
November compared with the previous corresponding period.

Meanwhile, the number of domestic travellers increased by 4.9 per cent.

MAp Chief Executive Kerrie Mather said Sydney Airport recorded "solid
growth".

"Particularly pleasing was the strong performance of the Chinese market,
which was driven by additional weekly services by Air China, China Southern,
China Eastern and Cathay Pacific," Mather said in a statement Monday.

She said Chinese inbound travel to Sydney grew 32 per cent and Australian
outbound travel to China increased 39 per cent in November 2010 compared
with the same month a year ago.

MAp Group owns 74 per cent of Sydney Airport and also holds stakes in
Copenhagen and Brussels airports.
