VIVA PALESTINA NEEDS US$300,000 TO HELP PALESTINIANS
KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 20 (Bernama) -- Viva Palestina Malaysia (VPM) needs nearly
US$300,000 to undertake various projects for the people of Palestine in Gaza.
Its deputy president, Siti Jamilah Sheikh Abdullah, said the projects
included assistance for micro projects, employment for women, agriculture and
integrated animal husbandry project.
She hoped that with such assistance, the Palestinians who had been shackled
by the Israeli regime for so long, could lead a normal life.
She was speaking to reporters after flagging-off 45 students, including some
from University Technology Malaysia city campus, who were participating in a
cycling tour at the campus here.
The cycling tour, themed 'Charity Ride in Aid of Palestinians' is aimed at
raising funds for VPM.
