MALAYSIA A TRUE DEPICTION OF ASIA

PUTRAJAYA, Dec 20 (Bernama) -- Despite being a multiracial country with
diverse cultures, Malaysia has been described as a unique country and a true
depiction of Asia.

Being here for the first time, Indian citizen Mahima Chaudhary said Malaysia
was different from any other countries because there was no discrimination
against any race and the people lived in harmony.

"If you look around, you see everyone is together and I think that is very
beautiful where there is no discrimination on the basis of colour," said the
22-year-old student, here Monday.

Chaudhary was among the 53 beauties from around the globe who are here in
Malaysia for the Miss Tourism International 2010 World Final which will be held
on Dec 31.

All of them were taken to several interesting places here in Putrajaya
including the New Millennium Monument and Maritime Centre as well as a cruise
ride, which allowed them to enjoy the fine architecture and landscape of the
federal administrative capital.

Chaudhary said she also loved the experience of living in Malaysia because
it felt so much like home, where the two countries shared a lot of similarities
especially in terms of culture and weather.

About Putrajaya in particular, she said it was one of the most unique
destinations, and totally different from places she had visited before because
it combined both 'modern and contemporary' design in its landscape.

Panama representative Maricely Gonzalez, 22, said she was amazed by the
friendliness and hospitality shown by the locals throughout her entire stay.

She said she had been treated well and would not hesitate to tell her
friends about the beauty of Malaysia to encourage them to visit the country
themselves.

"Malaysia is a beautiful developing country and it has its own uniqueness
for it consists of different races," she said.

Malaysian Gabrielle Ashley Boudville, 20, said apart from being a safe
country, Malaysia had almost everything that could attract people form all over
the world to come here.

"If you want a cool weather you can go to Genting Highlands, if you want
beaches you can go to Langkawi (island). There's almost everything here and it's
different from other countries," she said.
