An Indonesian maid died after she fell from the 12th floor
PUTRAJAYA, Jan 3 (Bernama) -- An Indonesian maid died after she fell from the 12th floor of an apartment block in Fasa 12, Presint 9, here, Saturday.
She is believed to have attempted to flee from her employer's home when the incident happened.
Putrajaya police chief ACP Abdul Razak Abdul Majid said the woman, who had no identification documents, was said to have climbed out from the 12th floor using blankets when her employers were not home last night.
"Residents found the victim lying face down at the back alley near a kindergarten at around 7.30am today. A bag of clothing was also found nearby," he said when contacted here Sunday.
Abdul Razak said police do not suspect foul play and have classified the case as sudden death.
The body was sent to the Putrajaya Hospital for post-mortem.
Abdul Razak said police were still investigating whether the employer had hired an illegal immigrant as there was a lack of identification documents.
A resident, who refused to be named, said his wife heard a loud thump Saturday but did not suspect anything amiss.
He said residents rarely walked in the small alley where the body was found, which was why the body was not found earlier.
The victim's employer, when met by reporters, declined to comment further on the incident.
