THREE-DAY CHOCOLATE EXHIBITION AT MID VALLEY BEGINNING FRIDAY

By Haslinda Zainal

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 4 (Bernama) -- Candy-loving kids and adults with a sweet tooth
are in for a treat.

Handmade quality chocolates, all forms and tastes that a real connoisseur can
dream of, will be showcased at the three-day "Chocolate Malaysia 2011"
exhibition to be held at the Mid-Valley Megamall beginning Friday.

The exhibition will also showcase the skills of international pastry chef Jean
Marc Bernelin in the art of making chocolates, said project director Katherine
Kavanagh in an interview with Bernama Tuesday.

"We will promote locally-made chocolates and manufacturers of hand-made
chocolates," she said, adding that more than 50,000 patrons are expected to
visit the fair organised by Expomedia Events and supported by the Malaysian
Association of Hand-Made Chocolate Entreprenuers.

Kavanagh said a similar event, held January last year, attracted close to 50,000
patrons and a subsequent exhibition held in Danga Bay, in southern city of Johor
Baharu, in June drew 31,000 patrons.

She added seven local companies, comprising local hand-made chocolate
entreprenuers and chocolate importers, would participate in the exhibition.

And, for those interested to expand their confectionery knowledge, quick lessons
in chocolate making and demonstrations will be held at 3pm, daily, during the
exhibition duration.
