MATTA EXPECT MORE QUALITY VISITORS THIS YEAR

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 6 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel
Agents (Matta) are expecting about 85,000 for this year's fair, to be held at
the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), in March.

However, the association is hoping for more quality visitors to take up the
various travel offers, said its organising chairman John Tan.

He said the three-day fair from March 11 to 13, was expected to offer better
discounts, especially by airlines.

However, the number of participants are expected to be the same as last year
with about 900 booths offering various travel packages and discounts, he told
reporters at the Matta fair pre-launching here Wednesday.

"We are going to use three halls in the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), so we
are most likely going to have the same number of visitors," he said.

Tan said as for exhibitors, they are expecting to have around 900
booths with sales forecasted at about RM100 million. (US$1=RM3.07)

Entrance fee for this year's fair, themed 'Colour Your Life...Travel' will
remain at RM3 per visitor.
