FORMER LONGEST SERVING EMBASSY STAFF DIES
BANGKOK, Jan 11 (Bernama) – Yvonne Stuart Lambert, a former staff of the Malaysian Embassy in Paris who had served the embassy for 40 years, passed away in Paris Sunday. She was 65.
Her adopted sister, Pauline Phillips, 76, said Lambert died at Fondation
Rothschild Hospital where she underwent brain surgery on Jan 3.
She had since remained in coma.
Lambert was diagnosed with brain cancer in October last year, about a month
after she retired, having served the embassy from September 1970 until 2010.
Lambert, a former Malaysian citizen who became a French national, was a
locally recruited staff and her last post was office assistant at the embassy,
said Phillips, who lives here.
Phillips said her adopted sister, a divorcee, left a 21-year-old son,
Ambrose.
