RCA dispatches relief aid to Khartoum

Khartoum - Aug 13, 2008 (WAM) - UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) sent
yesterday 40 tonnes of relief aid to victims of flood, which hit Eastern Sudan state of Qedarif.

The move in line with instructions of President HH
Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy
Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces HH General Sheikh Mohammed bin
Zayed Al Nahyan and follow up of UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of
the RCA HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Dr Saleh Mousa Al Taie,
Secretary General of the RCA, said "the relief programme aims at easing
suffering of flood victims in Qedarif, where rains damaged villages and
farms". The relief plane arrived in Khartoum from Abu Dhabi, carrying food
and shelter shipment.
