Emirates Airline and Etihad among world's best carriers
Dubai, Aug 13, 2008 (WAM) Emirates Airline has maintained its ranking as one of the world's best airlines while Abu Dhabi's Etihad Airways landed in the top 10 list of British aviation consultancy firm Skytrax, a recognition of their world-class services and an inspiration to work harder according to a report in 'Khaleej Times.'
'Throughout our rapid expansion, Emirates has consistently ranked amongst
the top international airlines, and we will continue to world hard to
maintain and enhance our service and product,' said an Emirates
spokesperson.
The Dubai-based airline kept its position as the world's ninth best, as well
as the carrier offering the best in-flight entertainment for the fourth
consecutive year while Etihad debuted as one of the world's best at No 10.
Qatar Airways ranked seventh. 'Etihad Airways continues to expand its
award-winning product and services, fleet and destinations and the Skytrax
2008 survey is further recognition that the airline has established itself
firmly on the global aviation stage,' said the company's chief executive,
James Hogan.
He added in an e-mailed note that the airline would continue building its
world-class status for the next 12 months with new aircraft, enhanced
quality of services and new flights to Eastern Europe, India and Australia.
Skytrax's World Airline Awards voted Singapore Airlines the best in the
world for the second consecutive year based on an annual survey of
passengers mostly of Asian and Gulf Arab carriers including Australia's
Qantas Airways Ltd, which ranked third.
