11 CHINESE AND TWO THAI WOMEN DETAINED IN RAID

BAHAU (Malaysia), Jan 26 (Bernama) -- Eleven Chinese and two Thai women were
detained in an Immigration Department raid on a massage parlour here last
Tuesday night.

Negeri Sembilan deputy immigration director Ahmad Shakirin Zainal Abidin
said the 13 foreign women were caught with false temporary social visit passes.

"Seven Chinese women claimed they paid middlemen RM13,510 (US$4,426) for the
false documents," he told a press conference here Wednesday.

The women will be charged under Section 56(1)(L) of Immigration Act 1959/63
which carries jail sentence of not more five years and fine not more RM10,000
(US$3,276).

Ten immigration officers and three staff were involved in the raid starting
from 9pm-12.30am.
