FOREIGN SAILORS TRAINING IN LANGKAWI

LANGKAWI (Kedah, Malaysia), Jan 31 (Bernama) -- Sailors from India, Hong Kong and Belgium have chosen Langkawi as their training ground for their respective sailing squad development programmes.

Malaysian Yachting Association (MYA) president Mohd Afendy Abdullah said 18 sailors from the two countries and administrative region were currently undergoing a 12-day training at the Langkawi National Sailing Training Complex, starting Sunday.

"The location, weather and wind factor are among the reasons for them to choose Langkawi," he said.

The sailors had earlier participated in the KFC International Langkawi Regatta 2011 which ended Saturday which saw Malaysian sailors' domination in nearly all categories.
