PM: OPPORTUNITIES ABUNDANT FOR ALL TO SUCCEED IN MALAYSIA

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 2 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Najib Razak said
opportunities are abundant for Malaysians of all races to succeed in the
country.

What was needed, he said, was planning, hard work and discipline.

In his message in conjunction with the Chinese New Year starting Thursday
Najib called on the Chinese community to continue working together for a better
future for their families and children.

Najib said that although the government would not be able to ensure the
success of every individual, it was the government's duty to provide the best
ecosystem to optimise each potential.

"I wish all members of the Malaysian Chinese community a Happy New Year. May
the Year of the Rabbit brings peace, health and prosperity to all," he said in
his 1Malaysia blog.

Najib said that with the hard work of all, including the government and the
people, civil servants and the private sector, the country would remain on the
right track this year to achieve its vision to become a developed and high
income nation.

"This momentum should be pushed further. The time has not come for us to
declare victory and enter the comfort zone. We should continue to work hard to
achieve new successes," he said.

Najib also expressed the hope that Malaysians of all races would continue
with the open house tradition and visiting their friends from the Chinese
community.

"May the open house tradition continue to be the ties that bind the hearts
of all of us in the spirit of 1Malaysia family," he said.
