Kuwari: Qatar is Part of the Arab Nation
Doha, February 08 (QNA) - HE the Deputy Chairman of the Advisory Council Issa bin Rabia Kuwari has praised the positive, excellent atmosphere and constructive discussions that have dominated the sessions of the 17th Arab Parliamentary Union meeting , which concluded here today.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency he gave at the close of the meeting, Al-Kuwari such atmosphere enabled the meeting to issue a final statement including excellent decisions that will serve the causes of the Arab nation and its peoples.
Qatar hosting of this big and significant parliamentary event, comes in a continuation of its pioneering role which it plays on all levels under the wise leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Al-Kuwari said pointing out that Qatar is part of the Arab nation and what it carries out is its required duty towards its brothers.
For his part, Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker Mohammed bin Jassim Al-Kharafi hoped in a similar statement expressed that Arab meetings would be a venue for free and frank discussions and self criticism if need be.
Asked whether the decisions issued by the meeting lived up to the aspirations of the nation, Al-Kharafi hoped that the decisions would be read and carried out. .
On the role required by Arab parliamentarians, Al-Kharafi said the Arab parliamentary group is in need of dialogue and openness among themselves. He pointed out that Arab parliaments are required to be a popular base parallel to the executive authority
The meeting's final statement expressed thanks and appreciation HE the Advisory Council Speaker Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Kholeifi who is also Chairman of the Arab Parliamentary Union for the warm welcome and the fine organization.
It also thanked the Secretariat of the Consultative Council for the great efforts it made in organizing the meeting and the reception of the participants.
