World's top table tennis stars are set to showcase their skills in the 15th edition of the prize money $212,000 Qatar Open Table Tennis championships

Doha (QNA) - World's top table tennis stars are set to showcase their skills in the 15th edition of the prize money $212,000 Qatar Open Table Tennis championships which start with the qualifying rounds here at the Qatar Sports Club Wednesday.
Men's and women's world number one German Timo Boll and China's Guo Yan lead the pack of 191 players contesting International Table Tennis Federation's (ITTF) major event on its Pro Tour circuit.
Top seeded Boll, winner of the men's singles title in 2009, will be joined by 32 qualifiers in the main draw which starts February 11.

Ahmad Al Mohannadi leads Qatar's challenge in the men's section. China's Ma Long, who enjoyed the world number one spot in 2010, is the second seed. Compatriots Wang Hao and Zhang Jike follow him in the seedings.
Women's top seed Guo Yan will hope for a podium finish this year as she has not won any title in Qatar in all her attempts.Singapore's Feng Tianwei is the number two seed followed by Chinese pair Li Xiaoxia and Guo Yue.
Qatar's hopes in the women's section rest on Noora Al Abri, Kholoud Hussain, Aya Al Ansari, Waheed Hissa Al Hamad and Maha Faramarzi.
