assisting the government explain its transformation measures through news

programmes through feature articles or talk shows presented in easily
understandable language.

"Perhaps, we can emerge as the first agency to do this. As such, Bernama
should find novel approaches to assist the government achieve the desired
result, which is to make Malaysia a high-income nation by 2020," he said when
opening a meeting of Bernama bureau chiefs and state correspondents at the
agency's headquarters, here.

people-centred government transformation programmes had yet to be highlighted,
leaving many people unaware of the existence and importance of these projects.

He said it was important for the people to know what the government had
implemented in meeting the targets to raise the per capita income of the people
