Sudan referandum discussed at Qatar Cabinet Meeting

Doha, February 09 (QNA) - HE Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al-Than presided the cabinet weekly regular session held at the Emiri Diwan premises here on Wednesday.
After the meeting, HE the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Nasser bin Mohamed bin Abdulaziz Al Thani stated the following:
At the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet expressed satisfaction over the completion of the referendum process in southern Sudan in a peaceful manner, in a safe environment, and the Sudanese government's acceptance of its result.
The Cabinet affirmed its support for all that the brotherly Sudanese people agree upon. It also expressed its aspiration that the step would contribute to the achievement of greater stability, development and peace in north and south Sudan, appealing to the international community to provide all forms of support to enable the two parties shoulder their responsibilities for achieving that end.
Afterwards the Cabinet considered topics on the agenda and took the following decisions:
First: approved the proposal of the Ministry of Economy and Finance to add new commodities to the GCC Unified Customs Tariff.
Second: The Cabinet reviewed letter by the Appeals Committee of Qatar Financial markets Authority on the bi-annual report of the said Committee and took the appropriate decision.
Third: Taking the necessary measures for endorsing the following:

1- The additional protocol for the agreement on organising the use of the Jordanian laborers between the governments of the State of Qatar and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

2- A memorandum of understanding (mou) between the foreign ministries of the State of Qatar and the Republic of Turkmenistan concerning conducting political consultations.

Fourth: Approving the following:

1- A draft air services agreement between the governments of the State of Qatar and the Republic of Georgia.

2- A draft memorandum of understanding (MOU) for tourism cooperation between the governments of the State of Qatar and the Bosnia-Herzegovina's cabinet.

3- A draft memorandum of understanding (MOU) for tourism cooperation between the governments of the State of Qatar and the Republic of Moldova.
