Doha Airport E-Gate Card Fees reduced
Doha, February 09 (QNA) - The Ministry of Interior (MoI) Wednesday reduced fees to obtain an E-Gate Card used to ease the process of passengers' entry to Qatar and exit at the Doha International Airport.
The revised fees, announced by Passports and Airport Security Department (PASD), range from QR 100 to QR 200 depending upon the validity of the cards. The maximum period is three years, a media statement from the MoI said today.
The fee for issuing cards will be QR 100 for one year, QR 150 for two years and QR 200 for three years. Earlier the fees were QR 150, 250 and 350 respectively.
The E-Gate Card makes passengers' entry and exit process efficient as they do not have to stand in long queues.
Prospective applicants should visit PASD offices for obtaining an E-Gate Card. The applicant has to show his Identity Card or passport. After taking the applicant's photo and print of his index finger, an E-Gate Card will be issued.
The card holder can use it at departure and arrival lounges at Doha
International Airport by placing the card at the specified place followed by placing
index finger at the place for automatic fingerprinting. The gates will then open and allow the passenger to pass through within a short span of time.
The PASD urged citizens, residents and citizens of GCC countries to avail this service.
