Qatari and Belgian Businessmen Meet

Doha, February 09 (QNA) a joint meeting was held here today a between businessmen from Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry and a delegation of Belgian businessmen.
The meeting was aimed to increase cooperation between the two sides and to brief the visiting delegation on the investment opportunities available in the State of Qatar, especially after Qatar's winning its bid to organized the 2022 World Soccer Cup.
Deputy Chairman of Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mohammed bin Towar Al-Kuwari said Qatar is currently witnessing a comprehensive development in all sectors and areas, explaining that it allocated large sums of money to develop the infrastructure . He noted that e Qatar National Vision 2030 is based on economic diversification and will give a greater role for the private sector in the development process, adding that will encourage the establishment of more partnerships between Qatari businessmen and their counterparts from various countries around the world.
Al-Kuwari said the Belgian delegation's visit to Doha and its meeting with businessmen Qataris is considered as an adequate opportunity for both sides to expand areas of cooperation between the private sector in both countries, especially in areas such as construction, sports, information technology, small and medium industries referring in this respect to Belgium's useful experience in these areas.
He expressed the hope that discussions between the Belgian businessmen and their Qatari counterparts would come out with positive results, stressing the Chamber's readiness to provide all the potential to enhance cooperation between the two sides.
For her part, Claire Tillekars Director-General of the Investment and Trade Agency in Belgium said she was aware of the vision of Qatar and its development strategy, adding that she remakred the astonishing speed in the achievement process on the ground . She expressed the hope that her country would contribute to construction in the country.
The Belgian official added that she brought with her some 29 heads of companies from different disciplines to get briefed on the prospects of r cooperation between Qatari businessmen and their Belgian counterparts Belgians, especially in such areas such as construction, technology, energy and infrastructure.
