TWO FOREIGN WORKERS DIED AFTER INHALING FUMES
PETALING JAYA (Malaysia), Feb 11 (Bernama) -- Two foreign workers are
believed to have died from inhaling fumes after entering a manhole near Subang
Parade at 2pm Thursday.
The victims were identified as Bangladeshi kitchen helper Mohammed Momen,
20s, and Nepali security guard Balinath Tah,33.
Subang Jaya police chief ACP Zainal Rashid said Mohammed had entered the
manhole with another Bangladeshi kitchen helper.
Balinath and another Nepali security guard followed to help Mohammed and the
other man who asked for help after becoming breathless from inhaling fumes.
Firemen who arrived found the four men lying face down in the manhole.
Mohammed died on the spot while Balinath died on the way to hospital.
The bodies were taken to Universiti Malaya Medical Centre for a post-mortem.
Zainal said the Bangladeshi kitchen helper and security guard yet to be
identified were treated at Serdang Hospital.
Police are investigating why the two kitchen helpers entered the manhole and
urged witnesses to contact them.
A metal pole believed used to open the manhole was found nearby.
