RED SHIRTS RALLY IN BANGKOK
By Jamaluddin Muhammad
BANGKOK, Feb 14 (Bernama) -– The Red Shirts anti-government protesters Sunday
rallied in front of the Criminal Court here, allegedly seeking justice for their
colleagues.
Red Shirts leader Jatuporn Prompan read letters on the plight of their
colleagues who were still being detained and denied bail as they faced terrorism
charges.
About 400 leaders and supporters of the Red Shirts are still under detention
after the military crackdown on May 19, last year to disperse their three-month
rally in the capital.
Nineteen of them are facing terrorism charges.
The Red Shirts leaders alleged 'double standards' as its rival, the Yellow
Shirts leaders who faced terrorism charges for seizing the Suvarnabhumi
International Airport and the Government House previously, were released on
bail.
After reading the letters, the Red Shirts protesters marched to the
Democracy Monument here, arriving about 4pm. They plan to continue their protest at
the monument until midnight.
