Qatar and Georgia Sign Air Transport Agreement

Doha, February 15 (QNA) - The State of Qatar and the Republic of Georgia today signed an air transport agreement.
The agreement was signed for the Qatari side by Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority Abdul Aziz Al Noaimi and for the Georgian side by Minister of Economy and infrastructure Vera Kobalia.
According to the agreement, Qatar Airways will operate later this year an air route between the two countries' capitals, Doha and Tbilisi.
At a press conference held on the occasion the Georgian Minister of Economy said the State of Qatar represents an ideal choice as Georgia has routes with many European countries, describing Qatar Airways as one of the most important airlines in the world.
She underlined the importance of strengthening economic relations between the two countries , referring in this respect to a meeting she had with HE the Minister of Economy and Finance Youssuf Hussein Kamal during which this issue was discussed.
The Georgian Minister also underlined the importance of promoting trade exchange and joint investments confirming that the new route will help in this respect.
For his part, Al Noaimi stressed the importance of the agreement with Georgia saying it will strengthen ties between the two countries especially at the economic level.
