Her Highness Chairs Qatar Foundation s 11th Board of Directors Meeting
Doha, February 16(QNA)- Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), chaired on Wednesday the eleventh meeting of the organization s Board of Directors at Qatar Foundation s headquarters.
The meeting marked out Qatar Foundation s most recent achievements and explored accomplishments in education, research and capital projects.
Vice President for Education at QF, Dr. Abdulla Al Thani provided the Board with an update about the World Education Summit for Innovation (WISE). He emphasized that this annual global event aims to build the future of global education.
Dr. Abdulla also announced that WISE 2010 has managed to bring on board diverse speakers, and noted the launch of the WISE Prize for Education and WISE Publication as new initiatives.
For his part, Dean of the Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies (QFIS), Dr. Hatem Al Karanshawi, presented the QFIS mission as well as its current and new academic programs. He confirmed that QFIS was established to emphasize the richness & diversity of the Islamic heritage.
He further mapped the different research institutes which work to lead contemporary dialogue and research in all that relates to Islam and the relationship between Islamic and non-Islamic civilizations.
