SYMPOSIUM TO HELP BOOST COLLABORATIONS AMONG EAST ASIAN BUSINESSMEN
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 17 (Bernama) -- The East Asia Business Council (EABC) will hold a symposium, entitled 'Expanding trade and investment linkages in East Asia: Building business without borders" on Feb 22, 2011 here.
In a statement Thursday, the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) said the symposium was one of the key initiatives to strengthen collaborations among the business community of the 13 East Asian countries.
"It is expected to attract 150 businessmen from East Asian countries," it said.
The symposium has the support of MITI and its agencies.
Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry, Jacob Dungau Sagan, is scheduled to officiate the symposium.
It is organised into plenary sessions covering trade, investment,
connectivity and public-private sector partnerships.
The speakers will come from captains of industries as well as senior government officials from The Performance Management and Delivery Unit and Asean secretariat.
"They will talk on the potential trade areas, investment and connectivity that the business communities of Asean and East Asia could tap and benefit from," it said.
