NEW UAE COMPANY LAW EXPECTED TO DEBUT BEFORE YEAR-END
By Abdul Muin Majid
DUBAI, Feb 17 (Bernama) -- The United Arab Emirates' (UAE) Economy Ministry is working on 14 new draft laws covering areas such as companies, foreign investment and industries.
Minister Sultan Saeed Al Mansoori said the new company law may be issued before year-end.
"The ministry has finalised the draft and is waiting for approval from the UAE authorities concerned," he said in a statement.
It added that most of the draft laws were in the final stages.
The Ministry has sent some of the draft laws, including the company law, to the relevant authorities for necessary follow-up and action.
A sizeable number of Malaysian companies are currently operating in the UAE.
This Gulf nation is Malaysia's biggest trading partner in the Middle East.
