Nation pushes for streamlined administrative system
Hanoi (VNA) - Four centrally-run cities and six provinces will be selected to experimentally implement a project under which they will not organise the people's council at district and ward levels.
In addition, 500 communes nationwide will also be selected to hold the election of chairmen of the people's committees directly, Permanent DeputyPrime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung has instructed.
The Government Office released a notice on Aug. 15 saying that Deputy Prime Minister Hung has requested the Ministry of Home Affairs to finalise ascheme on this issue.
He asked for the participation of representatives from the ministries of justice, construction, planning and investment, finance, natural resources and environment, the National Assembly's Law Committee, and the SupremePeople's Court in the formulation of the scheme.
