FANAR, NHRC Launch "Islam and Human Rights" Book

Doha, February 20 (QNA) - Qatar Islamic Cultural Centre (FANAR) and the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) inaugurated today at al Sharq Hotel their joint project, a book titled (Islam and Human Rights) .
Mohammed bin Ali Al Ghamdi, Director of the FANAR Centre said at a press conference today following the launching ceremony, that the book is first global one of its kind on human rights, praising in this regard, the strategic partnership with the NHRC , which aims to highlight the contributions of Islamic Sharia to the global cultural heritage in the field of human rights
He said the aim of this achievement is also to highlight high the name of Qatar and its institutions at the international forums, to correct concepts as well as to highlight the virtues of the Shari'a in the field of human rights and contribute to the dialogue of cultures, rapprochement of civilizations and cooperation between the state's institutions.
The "Islam and Human Rights" book is a valuable initiative and a serious step aimed at highlighting a genuine image of Islam to non-Arabs and non-Muslims through emphasizing texts in the holy Quran and in the Prophet's Sunna, teachings and Hadith that underlined the importance of human rights over 1400 years ago.
