MINISTER LEADS M'SIAN DELEGATION TO UN SESSION
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 24 (Bernama) -- Women, Family and Community Development Minister Shahrizat Abdul Jalil is leading a Malaysian delegation to the 55th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) at the United Nations in New York.
The ministry said in a statement that the delegation included Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry Deputy Secretary-General (Policy) Dr Sharifah Zarah Syed Ahmad and Women, Family and Community Development Ministry Deputy Secretary-General (Policy) Harjeet Singh Hardev Singh.
The CSW plays a central role in overall policy making, follow-up and monitoring with regard to issues of gender equality and empowerment of women as well as in gender main streaming.
