M'SIA TEMPORARILY CLOSES EMBASSY IN LIBYA

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 25 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian embassy in Libya has been
temporarily closed for safety reasons due to the uprising against the rule of
Muammar Gaddafi, a Foreign Ministry spokesman said Friday.

He said the Malaysian ambassador to Libya, Mohd Zulkephli Mohd Noor, his
wife and embassy staff were among the 127 Malaysians evacuated from that country
Friday.

The Malaysians were flown out of Tripoli in a special chartered aircraft
which landed in the Tunisian capital of Tunis at about 11.30am (Malaysian time).

They are expected to be flown to Rome where they are to board a MAS flight
to Kuala Lumpur.

It is learnt that five Malaysian students opted to remain in Libya.
