Plan to Teach Arabic to Non-Arabic Speakers

Doha, February 27 (QNA) - HE the Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Dr. Ghaith Bin Mubarak Al Kuwari revealed on Sunday a plan to teach Arabic to non-Arabic speakers as part of maintaining the Arab identity.
Inaugurating the international conference on "Teaching Arabic for Non-Arabic Speakers" organized by the Language Centre of the Islamic Studies Academy of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development , he said the plan is oriented towards four groups, namely the expatriate Muslim workers, expatriate students, new Muslim converts and others who want to learn Arabic.
The minister noted that the Fanar Centre which belongs to the Department of Islamic Guidance will provide language education for the third and fourth groups while some Quran teaching centers will care for the first and second groups.He also said the mosques will help in teaching Arabic to Muslim expatriate workers.
