German President Visits Aspire Zone
Doha February 27 (QNA) - The German President Christian Wulff and his accompanying delegation paid a visit to Aspire Zone Foundation Sunday afternoon.
The German President , his wife and accompanying delegation have been welcomed at their arrival to the National Teams Club at Aspire Zone Foundation by H.E Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Al-Thani, Chairman of Qatar 2022 Bid Committee, H.E Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, President of Qatar Football Association and member of the board of directors Qatar 2022 Bid Committee, Mr. Hassan Al-Thuwadi, CEO of Qatar 2022 Bid Committee, Dr. Mohammed Ghanim Al-Maadheed , Director General of ASPETAR, Qatar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital, and Mr. Abdulaziz Abdulla Al-Mahmoud, Director General Aspire Logistics.
H.E Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Al- Thani welcomed the German Federal President, who is on official state visit on top of an important delegation of ministers, parliament members, and businessmen. He wished them a nice stay in Qatar, as highlighting the important role that Qatar is playing today in many aspects among which the sporting movement is a priority as development key factor which clear from the-State-of-the- Art facilities such as those of Aspire Zone Foundation.
President Wulff and accompanying delegation congratulated H.E Sheikh Mohammed and Qatar for winning the rights of organizing the FIFA World Cup 2022; as showing his confidence in Qatar capability to organize a successful World Cup with regards to the series of successes the Qataris have realized in organizing many international sporting events.
After the welcome protocol, H.E Sheikh Mohammed and his German Guest, wife and accompanying delegation headed to a traditional Qatari Tent closer to one of ASPIRE Academy s outdoor football pitches where they received traditional Qatari Hospitality and watched a football game between two ASPIRE Academy young football teams that represent the future of Qatar Football.
At the end of the mini-football game, the German president and Sheikh Mohammed signed an ASPIRE T-Shirt and a ball for the ASPIRE players in memory of the visit, and then joined the two teams on field where the president played penalties kicks with the boys who presented him with a crystal sculpture of ASPIRE Dome.
