German President Leaves Doha

Doha, February 28 (QNA) - President Christian Wulff of the Federal Republic of Germany and his wife left Doha on Monday, wrapping up a two-day state visit to Qatar.
The German President and his accompanying delegation were seen off upon their departure at Doha International Airport by HE Minister of State for International Cooperation Dr.Khalid Mohamad Al Attiyah, HE Qatar's ambassador to Germany Abdulrahman Mohamad Al Kholeifi ,and the German ambassador to Qatar Anne Ruth Herkes.
Prior to their departure, the German President and the accompanying delegation visited Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) , toured its sections and wings and got acquainted with its islamic contents and antiquities including very rare heritage valuables , inter-alia books , manuscripts , silver , copper and bronze coins in addition to glass , ivory , wood, and textile products all gathered over the last 20 years.
It is one of the world s most complete collections of Islamic artifacts, ranging from Spain to Egypt to Iran, Iraq, Turkey, India and Central Asia.
The German guest was also briefed on the role the MIA played for spreading science and culture and encourgaing innovation and connection with the world cultures and arts.(QNA(
