SINGTEL REMAINS IN F1 DRIVER SEAT FOR ANOTHER TWO YEARS
SINGAPORE, March 1 (Bernama) -- Singapore Telecommunications Ltd (SingTel) Monday announced that it will remain the title sponsor for the Formula 1 (F1) Singtel Singapore Grand Prix for another two years.
The partnership, which was first forged in 2008, was renewed for this year and 2012.
"We are proud to be continuing as the title sponsor for the Formula 1 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix," said Chua Sock Koong, SingTel's Group Chief Executive Officer in a statement Tuesday.
She said several years ago, no one would have thought of having F1 in Singapore.
"When Singapore hosted its inaugural race and the world's first Formula One night race three years ago, we created our own race record and amazed the world," she added.
Chua said the title sponsorship of the F1 race in Singapore had raised awareness of this key brand attribute and strengthened SingTel as a global brand.
Now into the fourth year of partnership, she said: "We will continue to achieve amazing things at record speed to bring the best to our customers in Singapore and around the world."
"This will also be the year we will create several "firsts" to bring alive the F1 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix experience, which we hope will dazzle both Singaporeans and visitors".
