Qatar Symposium on Municipal Council Elections
Doha, March 01 (QNA) - The supervisory committee for the fourth Central Municipal Council elections has organized a symposium for the heads and members of electoral committees to introduce them to the election system and procedures.
The symposium was attended by director of financial affairs and head of supply committee Colonel Ahmed Abdullah Al Jamal, and director of strategic planning and member of supervisory committee Lt. Col. Abdul Rahman Majid Al Sulaiti, and assistant director of legal affairs and head of the legal committee Colonel Salem Saqr Al Muraikhy, and director of information systems and head of technical committee Colonel Abdul Rahman Ali Al-Maliki, and assistant director of public relations and head of the media committee Major Mohammad Majid Al Sulaiti.
Lt. Col. Abdul Rahman Majid Al Sulaiti said that the committee, which entrusted to register candidates, are made of a president and two members and will receive applications of the candidates at their respective electoral premises, while ensuring that the candidate resides in the same constituency where he/she applied, and that all the recorded data in the application matches the applicant ID.
Other committee members gave detailed explanations on the proceduers being taken to ensure succefful elections.
