Qatari-Saudi Joint Coordination Council Meets

Riyadh, March 01 (QNA) - The Qatari - Saudi Joint Coordination Council held its third meeting here this evening at Al Azizia Palace, chaired by HH Qatar's Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and HRH Saudi Crown Prince Crown, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
The meeting was attended by HE the Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani Prime and their excellencies members of the official delegation accompanying the HH the Heir Apparent.
On the Saudi side, the meeting was attended by Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal, and a number of Princes and Ministers.
At the beginning of the meeting HRH Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud delivered a speech in which he said this session is held in light of the achievements reflect the true will of the sincere desire of both countries to promote and deepen their cooperation under the wise guidance of the wise leadership of the two countries.
Crown Prince Sultan added that challenges facing our region require us, within the framework of our Council to deepen the political consultation, strengthen security coordination and joint action in various areas, a matter which will enable us to deal with these challenges positively, and achieve the common interests of our two countries, and the Gulf Cooperation Council and our Arab and Islamic nations .
His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz expressed satisfaction with the level reached by the bilateral ties , highlighting the confidence on being able to reach out to wider horizons thanks to the wise guidance of the leadership in both countries, and their keenness to go ahead with this constructive process for a bright future for the good of the two countries and their peoples.
Then, HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani gave a speech in which he expressed hope that meetings of this session of the Joint Coordination Council would lead to further constructive steps that would contribute to further strengthening the cooperation between the two countries for their mutual interests.
HH the Heir Apparent voiced his satisfaction on what have been achieved through advancing the level of cooperation, and enhancing of consultation, as well as consolidation of ongoing fruitful contact, thanks to the wise directives of the leaderships of the two countries, and their keenness to privacy of the relationship between the two countries' peoples, and support of historic fraternal ties .
At the beginning of his speech, HH the Heir Apparent conveyed the greetings of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia and Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, Deputy Prime Minister Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, and wished them good health and happiness, and for the people of Saudi Arabia of continued progress and prosperity.
HH the Heir Apparent also expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation for the warm hospitality and warm reception accorded to him and the accompanying delegation .
Then, the two sides reviewed the brotherly ties between the two countries and ways of bolstering them in all fields and discussed the situation in the region as well as regional and international issues of common interest.
HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and HRH Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud witnessed the signing of a draft agreement on cooperation in the field of civil defence, a draft agreement on cooperation in combating illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances and precursor chemical trafficking, as well as a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the field of environment protection and conservation, and a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the field of meteorology between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Government Saudi Arab Saudi Arabia.
