Yemen, JICA, WFP discuss cooperation in education, food areas
SANA'A, March 07 (Saba) - A Yemeni official has met separately with JICA and the World Food Programme (WFP) officials to discuss cooperation aspects in education and food program areas.
Minister of Education Abdul-Salam al-Jawfi and the JICA Resident Representative in Yemen Office Takeshi Komori reviewed the JICA-funded programs and activities in some provinces.
The two officials also talked over the impact of the programs on the educational process, particularly in improving quality of educational program.
On the other hand, al-Jawfi and the First Advisor of the WFP's projects discussed suitability of the program's contribution with the Ministry's policies, especially in raising
education enrollment rate and reducing school dropouts of girls in rural areas.
Meanwhile, the Minister met with the British Department for International Development (DFID)'s Resident Representative in Sana'a Joanna Reid.
The two sides' meeting focused on aspects of cooperation in the educational sector between the two friendly countries and means of developing them.
The educational programs and activities funded by the UK government were also touched upon in the meeting.
