Qatar, Portugal Sign Cooperation Agreement
Doha, March 07 (QNA) - The State of Qatar and the Republic of Portugal on Monday signed an agreement on enhancing technical , economic and commerical cooperation in addition to a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Air Transport .
HE Minister of Business and Commerce Sheikh Jassim Bin Abdulaziz Al Thani signed the agreement and the MOU for Qatar whereas visiting Portugalese Minister of Economy, Innovation and Development Jose Antonio Vieira da Silva signed for his coutnry.
In an address following the signing ceremony , HE Sheikh Jassim Bin Abdulaziz Al Thani said both the agreement and the MOU would contribute to further enhancing the volume of trade and investment exchange between the two countries noting however that opening the air field between the two sides would help provide ample cooperation opportunities between the business sector in both countries , thus expanding the movement of individuals , commodities , services and investments the matter which would help step up the volume of trade and tourist exchange between the two sies.
HE the qatari minister expressed qatar's interest for boosting cooperation with portugal in the economic and trade scopes pointing out that the portualese companies have plenty of investment opportunities in qatar.
The Minister of Business and Commerce further reviewed with the portugalese minister bilateral relations in the economic and trade spheres and how best to promote them.
Earlier in the day, HE Prime Minister and Foreign Ministe Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani met Portugalese Minister of Economy, Innovation and Development Jose Antonio Vieira da Silva and his accompanying delegation.
