Yemen, US hold talks on tenders

SANA'A, March 08 (Saba) - Yemen and the United States held on Tuesday a talks session to discuss the program preparations to implement capacities improvement project and good governance at the central and local levels.
The talks were co-chaired by Chairman of the Higher Authority for Supervising enders Abdul-Malik al-Arashi and director of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Response Program Barry Reed.
The talks aimed to support and develop government policies mainly those concerning the state's public procurement, enhancing transparency principle and pushing social and economic development through developing policies in the public institutions.
The two sides agreed to establish a training center for the Authority and vocational committees in the government instantiations.
They also agreed to establish a special unit on studying and preparing price indices for controlling the government's procurements in general.
They also reviewed tasks and functions made by the Authority with regard to approval procedures of budgets and country's procurements to boost transparency principle as well as impartiality.
