National Leasing Tops as Qatar Exchange Jumps 329.95 points
Doha, March 08 (QNA) - National Leasing and Industries Qatar Tuesday led the top gainers as Qatar Exchange's 20-stock benchmark made an extra-ordinary jump of 329.95 points (4.30%), highest in 12 weeks, to close the day's frenzy of trading.
The Qatari bourse closed at 8,0011.77 points, significantly higher than Monday's closing of 7,681.82.
National Leasing shares were up 6.71% to QR 36.60 from the previous closing of QR 34.30. The volume of its traded shares was 413,388 and the traded value was QR 14,835,614.00.
Industries Qatar share which opened at QR 120.10 this morning gained QR 7 to move up to QR 127.20, a change of 6%, over its last closing at QR 120. The traded value was QR 138,693,243.00 and the traded volume was QR 1,097,373.
There were plenty of smiles on Grand Hamad Street this afternoon as all banks shares ended the day substantially positive.
QNB's traded volume was 355,261 and value was QR 48,507,924.00 as its share gained QR 7.40, a change of 5.73% in 349 trades today, over its previous closing of QR 129.10.
Other gainers from banking sector were Al Ahli Bank whose share was up to QR 63.80 from the previous close of QR 59.80, a change of 6.69%.
Qatar Islamic Bank gained QR 3.70 to close at QR 81.00 from the previous close at QR 77.30, a change of 4.79% from 625 trades and traded volume of 597,984.
Rayan up by 4.85% to QR21.18 and Commercial Bank of Qatar by 4.38% to QR 71.50.
From the insurance sector Al Khaleej Takaful Insurance And Reinsurance Company (AKHI) made significant gains today in one and a quarter hour of trading late afternoon.
AKHI's volume of traded shares was 68,875 and traded value was QR 2,559,622.00. The share trading opened at QR 36.60 and closed at QR 37.70 gaining 4.72% or 1.70 from its previous close at QR 36.00.
The volume of shares traded today was up to 18,793,756 from 15,356,097 on Monday and the value of shares increased to QR 716,488,817.78 from QR538,128,800.15.
Today banking and financial sector added 557.42 and the insurance sector rose 371.24 points. The Qatar industrial sector gained 432.19 points and the services sector was up 155.31 points.
