Al-Mahmoud Meets Sudanese President Advisor
Doha, March 13 (QNA) - HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Mahmoud met here today with Sudanese President's Advisor Dr. Ghazi Salahuddin who is also in charge of Darfur issue and his accompanying delegation.
Talks during the meeting dealt with the Darfur peace process in Doha, steps made with regard to the Darfur peace final document, the mediation plan and efforts aimed to help the parties create favourable circumstances for a political agreement and the overcoming of the disputed issues to enable the negotiations reach their aspired end.
The meeting was attended by Head of the Sudanese Government Delegation to Darfur Negotiations Dr. Amin Hassan Omar and a number of foreign ministry officials.(QNA)
Minister of Business Meets Qatar Chamber Chief
Doha, March 13 (QNA) - HE the Minister of Business and Commerce Sheikh Jassim bin Abdul Aziz Al-Thani discussed during a meeting today with HE the Chairman of Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohamed Al Thani and some members of the Chamber ways to develop business and trade sectors in the country.
The meeting dealt with several aspects of the business sector, trade and industry in the state and ways to boost development in these critical areas to contribute to achieving the future vision of the State of Qatar calling for a powerful and cohesive economy to ensure stability for future generations.
Participant in the meeting expressed their full commitment to all that would create new investment opportunities in the state and create the appropriate climate for that, especially in light of current circumstances and the prosperity the country is witnessing in the various fields, especially the economic sectors.(QNA)
Minister of Finance and Economics to Open MultaQa Qatar
Doha , March 13 (QNA) - HE Minister of Economy and Finance Youssuf Hussein Kamal will inaugurate tomorrow the fifth edition of MultaQa Qatar in Al Sharq Village.
The forum will be held on the 14th and the 15th of this month and will offer a platform for notable insurance and risk management executives from across the globe to discuss the industry issues on a regional and a global scale. MultaQa is sponsored by Gulf Reinsurance and is considered one of the leading events in the region for re-investment.
HE the Minister will kick-start the discussions when he talks about insurance in the Gulf countries in a lecture entitled "Economic and insurance industry fundamentals of the GCC: delivering the next phase of accelerated growth". Picking up from the lecture, the speakers will discuss the main issues regarding re-investment in the region with some of the most notable companies in the field.
Other talks will include the Key strategic opportunities and challenges in global re-insurance and Islamic insurance as well as a number of other lectures that are more specific to the Gulf countries such as taking Qatar as a case study in a number of important subjects. Qatar is considered one of the strongest economies in the Middle-East if not the world with an 13.3% real Growth Domestic Product (Real GDP) which surpasses the growth of China which is recorded at 9%. The country also has the highest GDP per Capita in the world.
Attending MultQa Qatar is through invitations only, the forum is organized in association with The Institute of Risk Management , Chartered Insurance Institute and International Insurance Society.
